The Western New York Steelhead season has been marvelous in spite of the recent low water and dry summer. It was made even better by my acquisition of Fly Logic premium reels. I purchased all three sizes and have used them to great advantage.

The fall steelhead season brings its own special challenges with cold weather, sleet, and even snow. My FLP 567 has been my favorite tool for the job. I have appreciated the quality of construction and durable design as I have hiked the creeks and their perilous banks (a few falls and tangles have me calling it perilous).

Best of all, has been the performance of the reel itself. With its easily reached and controlled disc drag, stopping one of these big guys during a screaming run has been a joy. My 6 weight gear usually has me landing even the ten pounders within 20 minutes or so. All this while not breaking off or really straining the fish.
