Gentlemen:
On a recent trip to the Harrison River in British Columbia, I had the pleasure of putting your 8/9 3-piece rod and FLO 789 reel to the test on chum salmon.
The Harrison is known for their November run of chum. They are big and bad with an ugly disposition. Chum are notorius for charging straight at you, changing direction, and jumping when you least expect it. For a while I thought I was fishing for tarpon.
Without the large arbor on my FLO 789 reel, I never would have landed as many fish. The 8/9 rod easily handled the shooting heads and sink tips required, and the butt section had more than adequate strength to tame these bruisers. I have enclosed a few photos which I hope you will enjoy.
I have two pending world records from this trip -- a 14 lb. chum on 4 lb. tippet, and a 16 lb. chum on 6 lb. tippet. The 16 lb. chum was caught with my Fly Logic rod and reel.
Keep up the good work.
Sincerely,
John L. Thompson
