Let me start out by saying, "I am your biggest fan!" I have found your reels to be "flawless!" A couple of years ago, I demo'd an FLP 345 up in South Park (Spinney Res. in Colorado) and fell in love with that reel. I fought 10-12 feisty trout that day (belly boat), and that reel worked perfectly. I returned it to the fly shop (that I borrowed it from), ordered my own, and tried to sell my [Brand X] reels!
So, when it came time to plan my Alaska trip last summer, I KNEW I'd be buying another of your reels (FLP 890). I landed a bunch of Kings with this reel, and NEVER had a single problem with this reel. It's every bit as good as a reel costing three times as much -- I know cause I've used/owned very expensive reels. That King took me over 1.5 hours to land. I'm a runner (25 miles/week) and I could never have landed this fish if I weren't -- he had me running up and down that river! He got so far down river from me at one point (I was real close to the end of my backing) I could no longer even see where my fly line entered the water.
I'm headed back to Alaska this July! I'm taking that FLP 890 (and my FLP 345) and I KNOW it will perform flawlessly for me once again.
Thank you for making such quality products. I never intend to ever buy a reel made by anyone else!
