What a TRIP! That Alaska is quite a place. We arrived at the beginning of the Silver Salmon run and in the midst of
the Sockeye. The day this picture was shot, I'd spent hours using your Fly Logic 8 wt. rod and 890 Premium reel to
pull in the fish. I'm embarrassed to say it, but my right arm gave out and I had to switch hands. I only wish I could
have performed as well as your rod and reel. My errors and blunders caused a number of fish to get away, yet . . .
not once did a fish escape because of an equipment malfunction.
Now on some of those big ol' buggers, you just had to clamp down and work 'em in, but when you tied into a
fresh one, and he decided to head back downstream to seek his salvation - well that's when your drag was put to
the test! Several times I got well into the backing before they decided to turn, or . . . I was forced to tighten down
your flawless drag to the point that size 0 fly wouldn't hold. What a rush!
Four of us spent 10 days fishing small streams, big streams and lakes, sometimes rising at 4:00 or 5:00 in the morning
and returning after 10:00 at night. We used your Fly Logic 567 and 890 Optimum and Premium reels with Fly Logic
5wt. - 9wt. rods. How many total fishing hours? I have no idea, but well into the hundreds. And though it's
probably no surprise to you, we had absolutely NO equipment failures. THANK YOU!
