This is my first King Salmon. Hooked up just before dark on the Oconto River. Used a Fly Logic 9' - 8/9wt with FLO reel. Saw this fish earlier in the afternoon but couldn't get him to move on the fly. Tried him again on our way back to the car. Only took 3 or 4 passes with a mysis shrimp pattern. Great fight... 38" x 20.5" girth, male.
He was the first of 28 I caught during my trip to Wisconsin. Fished the Oconto and Manitowoc Rivers. Largest King of the trip was also my last fish of the trip... 41" long x 22.25" girth, female.
